How to use organic paprika?

While primarily used in classic Hungarian cuisine, organic paprika is really a worldwide sensation. From sausages to salsa, toasted organic paprika makes an excellent addition to basic flavour profiles. Its sweet bitterness is reminiscent of first loves and Friday nights gone horribly right. One of the best uses for paprika is in Hungarian goulash. Perfect for a hearty meal, traditional goulash is a solid option for stew lovers with a flair for cooking.

Is there anything better than walking into a kitchen that smells like something hearty is about to be served? Well, trick your family into thinking you’re cooking from scratch with some brewed paprika potpourri. Use a teaspoon of organic paprika in a pot of boiling water to create a welcoming (but not overpowering) scent. Bonus points if what you’re cooking smells funky (I love a good fish fry as much as the next guy, but it does make the kitchen smell), since boiled paprika will help to eliminate odours and smells. Organic paprika can also be added into homemade soaps for colour, scent, and softer skin.

Paprika is made from bell peppers, which originate in North America. A staple of Central Mexico, the bell peppers have been cultivated for centuries before being introduced to Old World Europe. From there, paprika was traded across European countries. Today, organic paprika is primarily used in Hungarian dishes and to boost the natural pink colours of zoo flamingos. 

 

Storage / Packaging

Organic paprika should be sealed at ambient temperature. The container should be kept in a dry area - and kept out of direct sunlight. When stored correctly in its original box, our dried paprika has a shelf life of 1.5 years from its packaging date.
